Carroll County ran its win streak to six straight with wins over Gallatin County, Boone County and Williamstown.

The Panthers destroyed Gallatin 12-2 on March 28 — a day after shutting the Wildcats out 11-0 with both over in five innings — survived Boone County 11-10 on March 29 and then pounded Williamstown 12-2 in six innings.

Carroll pounded out 12 hits against Gallatin as Zayn Satchwell belted a home run and a double and drove in four runs while Coy Willhoite was 3-for-4 with an RBI, Aden Stephenson was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Preston Snow had two hits and drove in a run and Braden Stephenson had a double and two RBIs.

Braden Stephenson pitched all five innings for the win, allowing three unearned runs and striking out five.

Carroll then won the shootout over Boone County as Willhoite was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Luke Taylor was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored, Aden Stephenson was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs and Branon Battaglia had two hits and two RBIs.

Dalton Wilson picked up the win on the mound after pitching three scoreless innings.

The win over Williamstown saw Carroll limit the Demons to two runs on two hits as Destin Noffsinger pitched 5 innings with eight strikeouts and Battaglia pitched a scoreless inning and struck out one.

Carroll County scored 12 runs on 16 hits as Aden Stephenson had three hits and three RBIs, Preston Snow (three hits and two RBIs while Battaglia and Braden Stephenson had two hits and an RBI each as Battaglia and Snow slashed two doubles.

Carroll County, now 8-3, had Wednesday game with Jeffersontown canceled by weather. The Panthers host Simon Kenton April 9.

Trimble skid extends to 7 games

Trimble County’s losing skid was extended to seven games — the Raiders have not won since a 13-5 rout of Dayton in their season opener on March 12 — as Henry County outscored Trimble 24-1 in two lopsided 31st District seed games on March 28. Henry County’s Baylor Nolin and Camden Peyton combined to strike out eight in a 6-inning 7-0 no-hitter in game one while Jaylen Hortenbury fanned 8 in a 4-inning 17-1 no-hitter in game two.

Liam Taylor took the loss on the mound for the Raiders in game one while Dylan Penick started for Trimble County and suffered the loss in game two despite striking out five in four innings.

Trimble County’s Nolan Hunt scored the Raiders only run in the two games.

Trimble, now 1-7 overall, 0-2 31st District, travels to Ludlow on Friday and heads to Covington Latin next Monday.
